Greetings:

This website is an effort to follow up on those conversations with fellow ministry directors, forum chats, and fellow professionals that often conclude with, "Wouldn't be great if…?" or, "You know what we oughta do…" or, "Let's keep in touch."

The growth of theatre as an evangelistic outreach is staggering. It can also be overwhelming, sometimes competitive, often isolated.

Just as the local church is essential for continuing spiritual growth within a community, The Christian Theatre Network is designed for local artistic growth. Our purpose is to encourage communication among theatre ministries in local communities as they further the witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Through prayer, and nuts and bolts, we believe Believers not only can strengthen our individual abilities, but collectively enable Fellow Believers to grow. We are not alone.

The Christian Theatre Network encourages participation in the numerous Christian theatre organizations which offer regional and national workshops, seminars and resources. However, we also know many churches who could participate in such programs cannot because of monetary and other restraints. This should not deter their growth as ministries.

Our experience from attending these powerful, encouraging sessions is that attendees and those who cannot attend would benefit greatly from periodic, formal and informal interaction within their own zip codes. This site is a step.

The site is also designed in response to this oft-asked query: "How do I get into the biz?"
We encourage interaction with professional performers and organizations within local communities. One, to learn more of the craft. Second, to subtlely, or overtly, introduce non-Believers to Christ. Third, to encourage Fellow Believers participating in the profession, who need the fellowship of non-professional performers.

The Christian Theatre Network originates in Chicago. Our prayer is that the format and content provided in the following pages will encourage similar interaction and organization throughout…the globe.

This is a start. There will be errors. We strive toward the goal. Let's keep in touch.
